To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide tools and raise awareness for mental health. I created an interactive book designed to highlight some key techniques they provide to help care for one's mental health. The cover is hand embroidered and each handmade touchpoint coincides with the content of each spread.
When people are struggling with their mental health they can often feel fragile and vulnerable. I was inspired by china patterns and wanted this design to feel delicate and calming. Something I find interesting is that we view porcelain as something that is easily broken, but it can withstand up to 2800 degrees of heat. I wanted to make a connection to that in my design, that even though one can feel fragile you can withstand a lot more than you think.
