My work is centered around a need to express reverence for quiet moments of contemplation and the lessons I’ve learned in that space. I think there is something profound about the in-between and I’ve found that being present to those small moments have had a big impact on my life. Stylistically, I use mark marking, color and negative space to help create feelings of peace and openness. I have an interest in playing with perspective and have been inspired by impressionism and cubism. The process of printmaking has not only affected how I look at building up a piece, but has taught me craft and perseverance. I want for viewers to feel like there’s a space for them to dwell when they are standing in front of my work and that they feel comforted even for a moment.
