Pizzeria Florian started as a boutique catering experience in Buffalo, New York and grew into a contemporary Neapolitan pizzeria in East Aurora Village. The owners Amanda Jones and Jay Langfelder combine traditional Italian flavors with a focus on local seasonal produce. Pizzeria Florian was awarded 44th best pizzeria in the U.S by 50 Top Pizza 2024!
Florian is the patron saint of fire and fire protection, and means 'blooming', or 'flowering'. With the inspiration behind the name in mind, I designed the logo around the Fire Lily, to tie in both aspects of the flame of the wood fire oven and the focus on seasonal produce. The Lily is the National flower of Italy, tying in the restaurants roots in Italian flavors as well. I also was inspired by the Italian Art Nouveau movement, and wanted to provide an overall sense of delicacy paired with floral and natural elements.
