Franca's is an artisan food truck/catering service based in St. Petersburg, Fl. With 20 years of restaurant experience, Chef Michael Thill has dedicated his career to farm-to-table food and immersed himself in the timeless craft of pizza & creative rustic mediterranean cuisine. Franca’s inspiration flows from the sunshine in St. Petersburg, spiritual and culinary experiences in Kathmandu & Paris, and a life-long romance with vegetables.
The name Franca means 'the free one'. With Franca's being such a unique blend of inspiration, I looked to a few different sources to craft the aesthetic. I wanted to take movement and soft tones from the impressionist era, looking at Van Gogh's wheat fields and Monet's flowers, to help create that sense of freedom. I also wanted to capture the story telling you see in traditional Himalayan art, with their use of symbolism and elegant figures. I chose a typeface that's inspired by Italian Modernism, blending a simple and modern sans-serif with a handmade feel.
